The Dancing Curtain SM performs throughout Connecticut, New York, and beyond! In fact, if you can believe it, we are the only sketch comedy business in all of Connecticut! The Dancing Curtain SM is best described as your Comedy Alternative, a contemporary twist on I Love Lucy, The Carol Burnett Show, and In Living Color. The Dancing Curtain SM is Comfort Comedy, guaranteed to make you feel good...or we'll clean your bathroom!
The Dancing Curtain SM performs sketch comedy, improvisation, and stand-up at various venues from nightclubs, comedy clubs, bars, theatres, schools, restaurants, and alternative spaces. The show is comprised of several short skits and improvisations or stand-up - the entire performance lasting about an hour. The skits are written by the cast of The Dancing Curtain SM and are based on real people, conversations, and events. Each show ends with upbeat music and a dancing curtain call, and sometimes even a dancing audience!
ATTEND TALK-BACKS
The Dancing Curtain SM offers talk-backs sessions after select performances at schools and colleges. Hear the director and the cast describe their rehearsal and writing process, learn about their previous experience, and ask your most pressing questions. You’ll be inspired.
AUDITION
Are you an actor or comedian? The Dancing Curtain SM is always looking for fresh new actors/comedians/writers.
The Dancing Curtain SM also offers acting and inspirational classes for all ages and all levels at various locations in Connecticut. Classes are available for kids, adults, and seniors. Take improvisation, learn theatre games and tongue twisters, express yourself, free your imagination, unleash your creativity, build your self confidence, develop poise, improve your acting and public speaking skills, and play! Private classes can be arranged too.
WORKSHOPS
From time to time, acting and inspirational workshops are offered too.
